Customer background:

Holne UV America is a company specializing in the production of UV LED products, which are mainly used in curing, sterilization, phototherapy, and other fields. The customer's products have very high requirements for circuit boards, which need to have high thermal conductivity, high stability, high reliability, and other characteristics.

Cooperation needs:

The customer originally used ordinary FR4 circuit boards but found that in the high-temperature working environment of UV LED, the thermal expansion coefficient of FR4 circuit boards is large, which can easily lead to circuit board deformation, cracking, open circuits, and other problems, affecting the performance and life of the product. The customer hopes to find a circuit board material that is more suitable for UV LED applications and can effectively solve the problems of thermal management and electrical performance.

Solution:

Based on the customer's needs, we recommended a single-sided 2-layer Thermal Electric Separation Copper Core PCB (TESCC PCB for short) as a circuit board material. TESCC PCB is a unique metal-based copper-clad laminate. It divides the copper core layer into two parts, one part is used as a circuit layer and the other part is used as a heat dissipation layer. The two are isolated by an insulating layer to achieve the effect of thermal and electrical separation. TESCC PCB has the following advantages:

Ⅰ: High thermal conductivity:
The thermal conductivity of TESCC PCB can reach 2.0W/mK, which is more than 10 times that of FR4 circuit board. It can effectively conduct the heat generated by UV LED to the heat dissipation layer quickly, reduce the temperature rise of the circuit board, and improve the work of the product. efficiency and stability.
 
Ⅱ: High stability:
The thermal expansion coefficient of TESCC PCB is basically the same as that of copper, about 18ppm/℃, which is much lower than the 50~70ppm/℃ of FR4 circuit board. It can effectively avoid the thermal stress of the circuit board in a high-temperature environment prevent the circuit board from deforming, cracking, circuit breakage, and other problems, and improve the reliability and life of the product.
 
Ⅲ: High electrical performance:
The circuit layer and heat dissipation layer of TESCC PCB are isolated by an insulation layer, which avoids the risk of current leakage and electromagnetic interference and ensures the electrical performance and signal integrity of the circuit board.
